Character Details
Karam is the daughter Manab and Wasif Daher. Manab was the daughter of Hanan Basara, who immigrated from India. She made a name for herself in the perfume industry. She, however, disowned Manab when she married what Hanan thought to be just a street hustler Wasif Daher. Wasif was, however, more than a street hustler, he was an actual burgler known as Shadow. Wasif was rarely home, but Manab managed to make the marriage work out, until she gave birth to Karam. The birth of Karam was hard on Manab, and she never really recovered from the birth. She died about a year after Karam’s birth. Wasif took this time to take care of Karam until she was 7 years old. Wasif was practicing tricks to keep limber and he was surprised to see Karam copying him was ease. Wasif showed Karam some other tricks and Karam did them just as easy. Wasif started to train her in being a thief. So, four years later, Wasif started taking her with him on simple break and entries, like, going in through a small window and open door for her father and then to harder b&e’s.
Karam found out about her ability to turn into a cat, when she was nearly caught during a b&e. She was in a bedroom, when she heard footsteps coming towards her. She really wanted to get small and she did. The owner of the house found her in cat form and thought she snuck in through the open window. She was around 11 years at the time. Karam and Wasif realized that her cat powers would open entire new ways to break into places and not just houses. Her cat powers allowed her to do a lot of things. Climb wires and small branches. In fact, as Karam got older, the more Wasif became jealous of her. There was also the fact that Karam was wanting more in life, like a LIFE. She wanted to meet boys and have friends. To maybe actually go to college. Then there was a secret Wasif was keeping from her. Hanan had died and had left a fair bit of money to Karam, once she became 18. Wasif knew of this and the closer her 18 birthday, the more Wasif wanted to actually get rid of his daughter. He came up with a plan that would benefit him. Karam was glad her 18 birthday was coming up. She would then be able to be an adult and leave her father. She had thought her father would be happy for her, since he told her he even arranged a birthday surprise for her. Karam came home, to find her father had arranged for her to be taken and locked up by the MRD. There was the surprise of seeing the MRD at her home, but having her father call her a ‘thieving little freak’, just ticked her off. To actually have her father try to help the MRD get her ticked her off. In fact, it enraged her. Next thing she knew, she was a tiger, with sharp claws and brute strength, tossing agents about the house. She broke though a window and raced off. More to her surprise was when she altered again to a half-way form. In this form, she could leap onto the roof of the house. Leap from house to house. She did this for a bit, before turning to cat form and went down a sewer drain and managed to escape. She now trying to put her life back together and try to live a some what normal life.
