==[ Penthouse Level - X-Factor Tower/Ship ]==

The Penthouse level is three floors (45 feet high) subdivided into three distinct areas; the pool area, the gathering hall, and the lounge.

The floor itself is wide open and allowing flow between those areas without walls or major obstructions. Additionally, all four sides, including the roof, is made of polarizing transparent metal. This allows for sunlight to stream in from all directions, visualization into, out of, or one way, and of course total polarization preventing light completely.

The Pool Area - The swimming pool is a marvel of alien technology. It occupies all 45 feet including has roof access. As a standard pool, it is sunken into the main floor of the penthouse, but then has static and flowing water areas which allow for movement from the lower pool to the rooftop pool via swimming or back down via waterfall/slide. This is made possible by gravitational adjustments by Ship allowing the water to stand vertically, diagonally and horizontally. This means that if someone were to wish to swim from the penthouse floor to the rooftop, it would be possible. The pool area also offers a 'outdoor kitchen' area where one can prepare full meals.

The Gathering Hall - This area is malleable to serve whatever purpose deemed necessary. Presently it presents as a dance floor with stage. However, it can take the shape of a great dining hall, a basketball court, volleyball court, tennis court, and so on.

The Lounge Area - This area is devoted to the relaxation part of the top floor. Where those can sit back, relax and watch a very large projection screen. The area is near to the pool. Walls can be constructed to block out light, noise, distractions and so on.

The "meeting" (just a brief conversation about the status of the new student) started downstairs in Dani's "office" it was a sparse room, quite unlike her office at the school. Once that conversation was over she gave a tour of the Tower, hitting all the important rooms, Lobby, medbay, training room, not unlike the danger room and Xavier's only more star trek holodeck, lastly they step off the elevator into the multi level open floor plan living area "Pool, lounge and gathering area." Dani points each area out as she steps off the elevator.

The 'meeting' concerning Thimble didn't leave much room for Chenda to speak, aside from about the new girl. She does have some concerns, considering what Thimble's said to her. Still, Dani's the boss. What she says, Chenda'll try to do."
The tour itself is interesting, albeit quick. The Tower is impressively technical and futuristic, the sort of thing you might see on Trek or B5, but here and now. Chenda can't stop staring... and commenting in her own wry way. There's a lot to see and talk about, beyond doubt!
Finally, the top floor, with its spaciousness. The lounge and gathering area aren't a lot different from the rest of the Tower, but the pool is the real eye-catcher. Chenda's widen at the sight, especially the water hanging in midair going up to the roof. "Whoa... I'm guessing there's no skinny dipping," the gypsy girl ventures, smiling faintly. "So this is where you live when you're not at the school?"

A chuckle comes from Dani and she looks upward at the pool "Not in mixed company no." she did have a habit of that back when she was first a student at the school, but she doesn't anymore...or hasn't been caught at least "Live, not really." she gives a shake of her head "The few times I have spent the night here has been in the medbay mostly." recently she has been injured a couple of times by badguys, school rumour mill being what it is, the truth is probably highly exagerrated "I still prefer sleeping at the school. It is still feels more like home then this place.

"Ouch! That must not make for good memories of this place," Chenda guesses, wincing in sympathy. She has no love of hospitals, herself. "I hope it's at least a good, comfortable medbay. With no cold bedrails!"
She steps up alongside Dani, clasping her hands behind her back. "So... why did you want to meet here, instead of the office at the school? I don't mind driving, but getting clearance for a school vehicle takes some doing." Granted, it's not so bad for more computer-literate people...

"Yes they are a bit more comfortable." Dani moves across the room and drops into a armchair "Being under the regen though is a pain. You don't have room to move around." she gestures around "Make youself at home. If you were having problems getting here I could have sent a vehicle, or got you a train pass. Let me know if there is a next time." she then answers the question "X-Factor is in the middle of a mission. We are waiting for some information before we continue it, but it is best I stay close in case I'm needed.

Chenda shrugs and smiles. "I needed the practice, anyway. I've been taking public transportation long enough that I'm getting a bit rusty. Besides, I found out how much of a blast that new Mustang is to drive on the highway," she adds, plopping down into a chair... and giving a little yelp when she sinks deeper than she expected into the seat! "Oops! I think this one's been sat in by the heavy guys on the team a lot. It gives a lot."
She squirms her way to the edge of the chair and stands, moving to another and testing it with her hand first. "Anything I can help with?"

"You are responsible for your own speeding tickets you know." Dani warns though smile plays on her lips. She isn't so old that she doesn't remember when she Chenda's age, which wasn't all that long ago really. "Right now we are in a wait and see holding pattern, if I think of something though I'll let you know.

"Waiting... I hate waiting," Chenda comments, settling into the chair now that she's found that it won't turn into a pit on her. "How long have you been holding on this?"

"This will be the first full day." Dani replies "I'm not enjoying it myself either." she leaves it at that, as much as she would like to share more she doesn't so instead does in another direction "Was there anything you wanted to do while in the city?

"Aside from get some ice cream, not really," Chenda replies. "I wasn't sure how long this meeting would take... kind of forgot how tiring it is to drive a manual transmission car in heavy traffic, too. It's been a long time." She smiles wryly. "I thought about going shopping, but I'm always doing that when I come to New York. It can wait." She looks over. "What about you, Dani? Do you need to get away from this place for a bit?"

Dani mmmms "Ice cream does sound good." Dani nods at the question though looks apprehensive "Need to not really, want to very much..should I..probably not." she gets up from the armchair "But none of that has ever stopped me before.

Chenda stifles giggles, hearing that. "Well, in that case, don't forget your communicator," she replies, standing and slipping something from her pocket. "Shall I drive? Or would you feel safer walking?"

"It's a nice day, and I've been cooped up lately and there is a decent place down the block. Considering my luck lately, I'd rather not go to far." a hand brushes her midsection, covered by her blouse, "Next time they might just finish the job.

"Well, walking's good exercise for a recovering woman," Chenda says agreeably, slipping whatever it was back inside her pocket and moving to rejoin Dani. She reaches over and playfully rubs the spot the taller woman was just touching. "Ooh, lots of gym time showing here," she teases. "Maybe we should be looking for frozen yogurt!"

"I think it was these abs that save me." Dani chuckles at the petting and heads to the elevator to push the button to call it back up "Ship," she says aloud "Please keep a lock on us while we are out. We won't be going far."

The Ship replies through the Tower intercom system "Of course Danielle. Do be careful."

"Then I'd say the gym time was well-spent," Chenda comments, following her headmistress to the elevator. She gives Dani a quizzical look as the taller woman seemingly speaks to nothing... and starts, eyes widening, as a voice replies from all around them? "Whoa. So... the Tower has a central computer? Like the /Enterprise/?" she asks, her voice dropping nearly to a whisper as she looks around, as if for some obvious source of the voice.

Shadowcat beams into the elevator and smiles to them both with lockheed on her shoulder "morning, having fun?"

"Yes..did I not cover that as part of the tour?" Dani shrugs stepping into the elevator as she door slides open, "We can take a stroll through the computer core if you want, but it's just a bunch of.." she pauses when Kitty appears "Oh, Kitty, hi." she greets warmly "We were just going to take a walk to that dessert place down the block." sure she probably shouldn't be going out in public just yet, but she can only hide for so long before it starts just being ridicolous to her "Care to join?

"Well, you mentioned a computer, but you didn't mention it was the /talking/ kind," Chenda reminds Dani, stepping into the elevator behind her. "By the way, what's a lock, and what's it for?"
She's about to ask another question when suddenly the space nearby isn't empty anymore! At least the interloper is familiar! "Kitty! Holy cow..." she says, reflexively skipping back a step. "How'd you get in here? I'd swear it was empty before."

Shadowcat giggles that kind of computer. Ship was nice enough to teleport me to you both. Ship in a living advanced intelligence ship. I cal her Shipa though it hadn't write caught on, I just figured.she needed a name. She is ever changing though.even levels and other things that were in one place aren't always there at a different time or even exist. Sorry I startled you Chenda, I didn't mean to. By the way Dani, while I wad making a holoemitter...I made two. I'd love to go for a sweet tooth fix"

An eyebrow arches at Kitty, though I guess it does make since, that Ship would be considered a girl, since most modes of transporation with somehow been assigned that gender for centuries "Great. I think between the three of us we should be able to handle anything that New York can throw at us. Will you be giving it to me now, or later?" she asks Kitty in regards to the holoemitter, she just assumes one is for her.

"S'okay, Kitty. But the building... um, /ship/ teleports people?" Chenda has to ask, frowning in thought. "And it changes from day to day? I'm starting to wonder what I literally walked into."
She watches the elevator's floor counter slowly drop. "Hopefully New York can behave itself for a couple hours, even in Mutant Town."

Shadowcat smiles to dani and hands out a device no bigger then a belt buckle "now, the sd card I programmed it with is of me and vice versa. This way you can still go out and about and not be all cooped up plus it monitors your pulse rate ans transmits it back to ship. You get knocked out for any reason and we'll know about it" dani could very there was a tracking device incorporated into it as well but kitty didn't want her to feel like there wad huge chain on her for a leash. Then looks to chenda "what you literally walked into? You could say the belly of the beast. Shipa is a living creature, a step beyond an artificial intelligence. And she absolutely loves mutants, but not so much non mutants though"

"It's all very Star Trek really." Dani grins as she takes the device from Kitty and pockets it then steps out into the lobby when the elevator doors open "Thank you. There are a few other 'looks' I will be needing on it. I think I can manage those. If not I know where to find you.

Shadowcat smiles with a shrug and a nod "hey that's what got me on the team, you guys needed a computer and device wiz"

"So this is a living ship, masquerading as a building? Not just nanotech, like the system that rebuilt the mansion, but literally /alive/?" Chenda asks, looking around the elevator again. Fortunately, it opens just then. "Thank goodness. I was afraid that'd changed into the throat, or something like. I really didn't want to be 'invited down for dinner'." After all, Kitty didn't say /how/ Shipa loved mutants. Could be with all her heart, could be with a light tartar sauce.
She follows Dani out into the lobby. "A holoimager? Like Kurt's?" She tries not to smile. "So, who will you be? And do I still have to call the new you 'headmistress'?"

Shadowcat chuckles "Shipa doesn't eat mutants, but yes we found her and she scanned us knew who we were and scared off our competition. She is very protective of mutants, though she doesn't have organs like we do, she's a living space ship, all inorganic. Once we decided on a spot to set down and declare ourselves she flew us down and transformed herself into a building to blend in with her surroundings. Hmm least for this outing if dani and I go disguised, you can call me headmistress and her ms pryde. Geez that still sounds weird"

"Sounds like a beautiful friendship, to borrow from Bogart," Chenda says, nodding thoughtfully. "So you used Shipa to set up headquarters in New York. I guess Mutant Town makes sense. It's certainly the place most in need of protection." She opens her mouth to ask another question, then blinks, shakes her head, and closes it. "Never mind..."
