==[ Game Room - Xavier Mansion ]==
Akin to the shopping mall video arcades, this room provides many of the stand-up video game consoles. Quarters are not needed as all the games have been reprogrammed to allow for the player to just press start to play a new game. For the most part, the room is dark and filled with video game noises.
The Mortal Combat video game has been re-designed to offer a Videoman player option. Where one can play Videoman against all the other characters.
There is one exit from this room and no windows. The exit is to the north and emerges into the dining area. The exit is normally covered by a drape to prevent sunlight from pouring within.

It's shortly after evening dinner and students have broken off into groups to go relax after a long week of school work. With the weekend here excitement about the weekend is high, which can lead to an altercation or two. One such altercation has just went down, in the gameroom, two students fighting about cheating at a video game. It wasn't to bad, but enough that Dani had to be called down to deal with it. The two students in question are mumbling as they are escorted out of the room by some, older, more responsible students. Dani stands watching the group depart, leaving the room relatively empty save a couple younger students to engrossed in their own game to pay much attention.

While not exactly stalking, Jeanne has been more or less following Dani on her way to the gameroom and has waited long enough for the issue to be resolved, before slinking inside and offering, "it really is silly how boys get so engrossed in a video game that they can start an actual fight over it. A bit on the pathetic side, actually."

"At least this time there were no fists thrown." or psiarrows shot like the last time Dani had to break up a fight "I can handle a verbal spat with little problem. I won't tolerate violence amoung the students." an eyebrow arches at Finesse, she was probably quite aware she was being tailed. "Did you need something from me?

Jeanne shakes her head at the idea of students fighting with one another over video games, "and yet somehow Jean Grey thinks I am a trouble maker." Finesse does nod at Dani's question, and points a finger at her own temple, "your link with Rahne, how does it work precisely...do you get the input of animal senses?"

Dani cants her head to the side at the question. It isn't a new one, but she hasn't been asked that in quite a long time, "Of course not, she isn't an animal." the answer is a very controlled snap, almost as if she is insulted by the insinuation. "She may take the form of an animal but what I get from her is much different than what I would be from other creatures." her glance frequently goes to the entrance as if she expects someone to walk in at any moment.

Perfect timing. "What's got ye upset, Dani?" comes a voice a few seconds later, the owner of it appearing in the doorway after another moment. Sure enough, it's Wolfsbane in that midform of hers, a mix of human and wolf. She then adds, "Hullo, Jeanne," in a neutral enough tone. She's dressed down in plain Xavier's-related clothing, shirt and shorts, barefoot.

"But she does display feral characteristic, does she not? I would assume at the very least she shares in some of their senses," Finesse points out, as if utterly oblivious to the offense Mirage took at her insinuation. "So what you get in your link would be the very same input you would get from a human being, if you were able to link with humans? Does it distinctly stand out from what you get in link to natural animals?" Jeanne turns to face Wolfsbane when she comes in, and points at her, "see Dani, it's a very peculiar hybrid, but does hold to a sufficent number of animal qualities to not be entirely human." She then turns to talk to Wolfsbane, "hello Rahne, I was just wondering about the way your link with Dani works, but it might be more interesting to find out more about the source. Rahne...when you are in animal form, are you fully controlled by animal urges?"

It would seem the emotional reaction that Rahne feels coming from Dani at Jeanne's assertion that her friend is some sort of animal hybrid probably is a good answer to the question as to why she is upset, "Yes." not that she has ever linked with humans before that weren't telepaths/empaths in thier own right, but "With Rahne here," she moves over to her side "There is rationality behind the things I sense, as well as control. You don't get that with animals.

Wolfsbane raises a brow at the questions that come from Jeanne, and even if Dani can pick up a mild sense of..maybe not irritation exactly, but something close..the wolfen mutant shakes her head. "It's just a connection there whenever I'm in a form like this. It has nothing tae do with urges, just emotional things." Then she gives Dani a half-smile, amusement rising through the rapport. "Though sometimes I wish it was na there."

Nodding at Mirage and Wolfsbane explanation, Finesse turns to focus solely on Wolfsbane again, "so, if I were to hold a succulent piece of raw meat, Dani won't be feeling an urge to gnaw at it, right?"

"But you must admit it has been more helpful than hindrance, on lots of occasions." Dani blinks a bit in surprise at the unexpected question and a laugh escapes her "Nothing like that, though there has been ocassions where she has been angry at someone or something and I find myself feeling the same." of course that is typical of close friends whether they have an emotional link or not.

"Aye, but we're both older noo," the Scot explains, a coy smile passing over her before she squints at Jeanne for a few seconds. "I'm almost tempted tae ask ye tae try it, just tae see. I'd rather have it cooked, though." A nod follows the mention of the anger transferring as she rubs at an ear.

Jeanne nods at Dani's answer and then looks at Rahne, "are you sure? I hypothetize that if I were to try it you wouldn't be able to resist it...wolves do prefer their meat fresh from the hunt. What about other things, do you tend to follow a pack mentality, Rahne?"

A hand lifts and Dani covers her face, yes she just face palmed at the question "Like myself and a most everyone else at this school, Rahne is a mutant, not an animal, not a werewolf, a mutant.

Wolfsbane's eyes briefly narrow at the line of questioning. "I've been what I am for a number of years. I think I understand th' way muh abilities work. I'm na gaunae deny there've been nae cases where I had problems with some other..things..but I'm na a wolf." Her tone suggests she's not too keen on the things that are being implied.

Jeanne looks over at Dani, arching a quizzical brow, "you don't agree with my theory then? I'm not trying to offend Rahne, I'm asking very logical questions about her nature." Jeanne then turns to look back at Wolfsbane, "fine...so why walk around in this hybrid form when you don't need for any particular task at the moment? Can you honestly say there isn't some wolvish infulence that has you liking elements that form provides?"

"You might not be trying, but you are doing an awful good job at succeding." Dani has never asked why Rahne prefers her inbetween form, at least not in a long time, if ever. She just thought it had to do with liking the enhanced abilties and senses it gave her. Since this isn't a question she can answer, she remains silent.

"Asking things from a logical way is na always th' best way," Wolfsbane answers evenly, adding, "especially if ye forget I'm a mutant, na an animal." Yes, there's irritation in the link Dani can clearly pick up on. Still, she says, "When I learned I was a mutant I thought it was terrible because o' what I was taught. Then I found oot I liked it more. I got trapped like this for a while." A glance toward Dani, who should know what that was all about, "But I'm muhself again an' I just prefer it this way more."

Jeanne looks confused when Dani suggests she is offending Rahne, "I offend her by asking questions? Since when does the pursuit of knowledge offend another party?" It seems like the concept truly is ambigious to her, when Jeanne turns to look at Rahne more closely, as if trying to pick up on the fact she is actually getting offended. "That so? In what case does it prove to be a boon to ask a question from an illogical position?" Jeanne tilts her head slightly, not looking entirely convinced, but with what Dani had relied, she eventually mutters, "so it's all about preference for nothing but your own personal affinities?"

"Because your questions are presumptious and the way you phrase them makes it seem as if you have already made a judgment of the answer, even though you are unaware of all the facts. You started off this line of questioning by implying she's an animal and have repeatedly implied she is nothing more than a clever wolf in girl clothing." at least that is her interpratation of the line of questioning.

Wolfsbane's expression remains as neutral as she can make it, but it doesn't hide the way an eye twitches before narrowing, or a little tightness in her jaw. "What she said," is part of her answer to Jeanne as she nods in Dani's direction, then she adds, "Aye, this is muh preference because I enjoy what I am. I'll go around looking fully human when I have tae, but this is me. I'm na hiding from it."

"I cannot be blamed for what you take from the phrasing of a question. Every line of questioning starts with a hypothesis in mind, the answer tend to prove or disprove said hypothesis," Jeanne remarks casually. Quirking a brow, Jeanne peers curiously at Dani, and then quips, "that is not a nice thing to suggest, Dani. Though there is a probability it could be true." Jeanne nods at Wolfsbane's explanation, "fair enough, I wouldn't ask you to be what you are not."

"The things you have been suggesting aren't so nice either." Dani gives a shrug not really overly concerned about offending Jeanne "And how has our answers changed your hypothesis?

"This is na a science class or a study o' some inanimate object. Feelings may na matter tae ye but th' rest o' us have them an' if ye want tae ask me questions again, ye can do it without making up yuir mind about what ye think I am first," Rahne states, saying nothing further about lines of questioning and how they're taken. She's already experienced that side of Jeanne at least once before. "An' there's nae probability it could be true," she firmly adds with a sniff of annoyance about being a wolf in human clothes, finishing her thoughts with a simple and direct, "Good, because if ye did ask me tae be somethin' I'm na, I'd suggest ye mind yuir own business." She adds, more for Dani's benefit, "I feel like a run. I'll be in th' woods. It's good exercise." A last glance toward Jeanne hints she can take that bit of information how she will.

Jeanne retains her blank expression as she looks from Dani to Rahne, taking in all of the comments, nodding here and there, aside from pointing to Dani, "I don't see that." But when all is said and done and Rahne says she feels like a run, Jeanne says matter of factly, "case in point. There is room to consider either possibility, but perhaps it is best I pursuit other endeavors for now, thanks for answering my questions," Jeanne says and heads her own way out of the game room.

Waiting until the others depart, Dani takes the time to check on the younger two students, who while they were privy to the conversation or two engrossed in thier game to pay any attentions to the adults in the room. Ranhe will fell a parting comment about hoping she enjoys her run.

Wolfsbane rolls her eyes at Jeanne's apparent certainty that her hypothesis is proven, but she says nothing else until they're alone again with the couple students. "I should ask her why she doesna seem tae be human. I wonder how she'd like tha'." Irritation lingers, but she nods to Dani and waves before leaving, heading in another direction.
