==[ Voodoo Lounge - Greenwich Village ]==

One must descend a flight of black slate stairs flanked by walls papered in rock concert programs before discovering...

This is no ordinary urban mecca. This is no sports bar, no yuppie hipster watering hole. This... is the famed Voodoo Lounge.The lights are recessed into the wall, and of a golden hue, dimmed low enough that one can see where one is going, but still be able to consider the atmosphere intimate. People more than a dozen feet away will appear as mere shadows until one is right up on them. The walls are paneled in mahogany wood. The bar, that travels down the left side of the room is teak with a black marble top, polished to a fare-thee-well. Taps are visible just past the lip of the countertop. There's a recess in it so that a bartender can slide drinks to the waiting patrons. Behind the bar, the expected mirror -- this one beveled on the edges. Glasses and more elaborate drinkware hangs upside down from a wooden rack above.

The barstools appear to be leather and wood, but they are reinforced to handle patrons of superhuman size. The floor is carpeted in plush brown carpet, thick enough to sink into, though nothing seems to ever reach it if anything is spilled. There are cozy tables and booths clustered at the front and back of the room. A long, thickly stuffed leather sofa, also in brown, is along the entire front wall and side wall. A hidden moving light casts random shapes and sigils around the room in muted hues -- slowly enough so it's ambience-enhancing rather than disorienting. Potted palms flank the door and stand in the corners. There are hanging plants above the tables, leaves dripping lazily down toward the floor, but not enough to impede anyone there. Carefully hidden speakers pipe music into the room that varies from the contemporary to the exotic. There is no television behind the bar. The back wall has a floor-to-ceiling fountain that trickles away serenely. A few feet in front of the back wall is a modest stage, also set with small tables if there's no one performing.The entire vibe is like someone set a bar in a cozy little alcove in some exotic place far removed from New York City.

==========================================================================

Nearly 5am in the morning, and sunlight begins to pour in through windows. Snoring can be heard coming from the within. The snoring stops and yawning can be heard. Bill Baker looks around, "Honey. . .honey?" Bill Baker looks around through his stupor, standing up and then speaking in Hindi, <Honey, where are you? Are you with the twins?> He saunters out still somewhat sleepily decked in a T-Shirt and boxers, he peers about looking for Topaz. As he stretches his body, one might note the cracking of bones. No sand.

It's only been two hours since the bar closed up for the night and only an hour since the staff was sent home. Topaz is just doing the final touches on cleaning and prep for when the place re-opens. Hearing the snoring and the familar voice, she begins to move toward the stairs leading up to her apartment, but stops dead at the use of her native tongue. "Bill?" there is confusion at first, but it slowly fades as she realizes what is going on.

Making his way down, "Cleaning up. . ." He wipes some sleepiness from his eyes and goes towards her planting a morning kiss backed with some passion. Bill stretches again. More bones crack. Definitely no sand powers. "Are the boys still asleep?" He peers up the stairs and then quickly sneaks behind Topaz wrapping his arms around to kiss her neck, <If they are asleep, I suggest we use the time for some love. . .before little Jack and little Russell wake up. . .>

Topaz is quite taken aback by the display of affection, and not much is capable of that. "We have children?" she queries. As he moves behind her she turns her head to look back at him "You are flesh and blood." a hand covers the arm around her waist. Her bewilderment at the situation can be felt through the shared touch. She begins to wonder if perhaps it was she that was misplaced.

"Yes, we do." He kisses her neck and spins her around to stare into her eyes, "We have twin sons, Jack and Russell. I am flesh and blood. I gave up my powers to be with you after the fight with Mephisto." Bill hmmmns, "Should I call Stephen? Or are you just playing, hon?"

She stares back unblinking for a moment, but is first to drop her eyes, "You haven't realized..." she shakes her head "This is well out of Dr. Strange's hands." followed by a small sigh, "Would you like some coffee?" she attempts to free herself "Though considering, maybe something stronger would be in order.

"Now, I know something is off. You know I stopped drinking after Keemia died." Bill puts his own head down a moment. But he moves to take a seat behind the bar, "Coffee is fine." He observes her a moment and then blinks, "I can't feel you for some reason. Has the bond been cut?"

Pouring some coffee into the mug with kittens on it, Topaz sets it down in front of him "It was never created." she had debated just playing along, the mormalcy of domestic bliss would have been interesting, but being an honest person by nature she probably couldn't have pulled it off for long, especially considering her abilities "I'm not your Topaz, not exactly. You have been shifted one, or two..." she shrugs, "a dozen dimensions over.

Shaking his head and laughing almost, "Figures." Bill sighs as he rests his head on the bar counter, "Seems like we can t ever be happy in any dimension of reality." He takes it rather well, but an empathy can tell the sadness and depression setting in, "You didn't seem to surprised to know me. So in this reality, how do you and 'Bill' know each other?"

"We are not happy in your home dimension?" Topaz asks with some concern, maybe she is misunderstanding the statment "He was a frequent customer here for quite awhile, we went on a few dates. Shortly after we decided to be exclusive, there was an attack at the Avenger's Mansion," she takess a deep breath in than out, "He did not survive.

"Are you kidding? We were finally happy. We struggled a lot. First, Jack Russell, the werewolf. . .well let's just say he wasn't too happy with us as a couple. Then the Demon War. Mephisto wanted/still wants your soul. I gave up mine, but with some assistance from the Avengers and Stephen. He ended up taking the Flint Marko aspect of me which took my powers. Your magic abilities are gone, but we still have the empathic bond. After Jack died defending you from Satana and her Daimon, we named our sons after him. We are happy, but. . .well it always seems there is something out there. Now this. I can only imagine which Bill is with her now." He nods at the coffee and then stops a moment, "The attack on Avengers Mansion? By The Native American Gods?"

It's a lot to take in, especially considering those things could very well be in her future. Topaz puts a hand to her forehead "Wow." is about all she can say to what has happened to them in another dimension. Perhaps because she has never imagined herself as a mother or powerless. She begins to reach for a bottle of scotch but thinks better of it "Yes that attack. That happened in your dimension too? At least there you survived it." there is a touch of sadness in her tone at that.

Almost laughing, "So I could be in my past, though I don't remember this. And what with what Reed and Stephen say about timelines diverging and whatnot. So let me get this straight. Alternate reality versions are replacing the versions from this era, reality, dimension, or whatever, right?" He shakes his head, "You know what I will have a drink of vodka." He ponders, "So Keemia is alive here. . .maybe."

"Yes, it's been happening since Genosha broke out of Negative Zone and returned here. You are not the first alternate Bill to be here either." she nods and pours a shot of her best vodka, though she has to use a bit of magical help to get the bottle down from its shelf, "Though truth be told I prefer you over him. He was still in his villianous stage." she sets the bottle of vodka within easy reach "I do not know who Keemia is.

"Keemia is my daughter. I don't know about Bill from here. But, my past, is checkered. A lot of one night stands. It turns out from that I had a daughter. In my time, she was killed in a plot against Spider-Man." Bills slams down the vodka, the way Bill from this reality would. He hmmmns, "Genosha. I remember that happening, but I was out of commission at the time." He stops himself and looks to Topaz, "You know. . .it was incredibly hard to kill me when I had powers. The only real way to kill me is to isolate the one grain of sand within the sand body I had. The odds of someone doing that are. . .well. . ."

Topaz nods as she moves to refill the shot glass, should he want another "It is the same here. Considering my own past I am hardly one to judge someone on thier's." she can't imagine that the alternate Topaz's background was all that different from her own, "I do not know the specifics, the Avenger's have been very tight lipped about the whole thing. All I know is that it was an avatarof the gods that struck the killing blow." her head cants to the side at his implication "You are telling me that he may not be truly dead, but his soul is drifting bodiless until his physical shell can be reformed?

"Well, here's the thing. If alternate reality versions are replacing people. That would mine. . .I think. . .That the only way I can be here and the other evil version can be here, is that Bill from here, must be alive." Bill shrugs and takes a sip of vodka. "My mind is a bit smoggy, but I kinda get something." He looks down realizing he is in his underwear and smirks. Leaning over the bar, he reaches his hand behind Topaz's head to plant another kiss, "Sorry, I couldn't resist. That's the Bill from here, letting you know he loves you." He sits back down and taps on the bar.
