Kurt will also feel like he has an anchor tied to him.

Looking from button to hand, then following hand to hooded face, Kurt will ponder a moment of silence at this. All things considered of late, he knows well that had the man wanted to attack him, especially with the device that is anchoring him to this dimension thus stopping his teleportation power. He remains kneeling for the moment, but calls to the other, "Sabes ... was ist das? Why do you come here?" Not declining the other shouldn't enter a church, but more curious why he's come to this one where Kurt is a parishioner.

Relaxing the robe so that it opens in the front, Sabes casts the box onto a pew. He answers, "I've come to Prey." his inflection implies that it's prey, not pray. He then reaches up to his hood and pulls it back allowing the whole robe to fall to the floor.

Standing as the hood is lifted, Kurt will ponder the feeling of being anchored and the dropping of the box (ie, does the button need to be pressed, or does it set off a timed anchor and will the time run out at some point). Still, he turns to the larger man, "Dies ist mein haus!" Its not so much a true shout as simply a raised voice, which in a church seems to gather some reverberations behind it from the stone walls and marble floors. "Mein Vater reserves judgement Sabes, but I shall play victim so readily." With that, he'll attempt a teleport to test the box - see if it holds him here, or simply limits his range. He'll attempt to go up to the arching roof of the ceiling itself if possible.

"Mein Vater reserves judgement Sabes, but I shall not play victim so readily." With that, he'll attempt a teleport to test the box - see if it holds him here, or simply limits his range. Kurt feels the strain of the anchor holding him fast to the dimension. It almost hurts, but doesn't.

A broad smile stretches across Sabes' mouth to reveal his sharp canines. A chuckle accompanies it and he takes another two steps toward the elf (still 30 feet away). "I'd hoped you wouldn't... because you and me, we're gonna be bestest buddies. And I don't want some coward on my team."

Anchored good, Nightcrawler ponders the others words then. "What do you mean same team, was ist das?" Stuck, he won't make any attempt to move now, not unless the other actually comes for him. Thus, he prepares himself, should the other make and quick moves to close the distance or do anything unkind towards his elfin self. He readies himself to avoid taking damage should Victor charge him, as well as watch the others movements for openings should it come to that (prepared action to evade).

Moving to his left, Sabes takes a seat on the back of the 4th pew with his feet in the seat. His voice deep and has a pleased ring to it, " Well. I'm a good guy now. You know, Red, White, Blue, all American, apple pie, baseball, pin up models - hero."

"For being so recently good," ponders Nightcrawler, "I'm curious how recent evidence points towards you being near Mr. Gambino who, recently, took a long dive towards the pool at his Casino and mysteriously managed to miss the water." Or, a quick implication to suggest the man was thrown.

His grin remains, "That was me, I hope you liked my work. But you gotta know, I was doing it under orders and for the cause. You know.... taking out the bad guys like the trash they are."

There is a light shake of his head, Kurt replies, "I'm the wrong one to discuss taking out the bad guys. Apprehend perhaps, and given the opportunity to reform, ja, but not taking them out. My cause is for humans and mutants to live peacefully together and I prefer to only take action when that peace is threatened. I do not take a proactive stance nor make assumptions." A statement to explain where he stands, then, "What team is this where we take out bad guys and who is putting me on this team, I did not join such a team of my free will." And he might not have a choice now if he's anchored and Sabretooth is telling him he's on this team. He's meaning to find out what this is before anything goes to worse."

A chuckle returns, that escalates to laughter, "X-Factor, of course. What do you think you people have been doing? Oh wait, you think you've been saving the innocents and protecting society. Guess your buddies up in Massachusetts did more of a head job on you than everyone thinks."

He seems to know a lot for a mutant assassin/terrorist who has been on the lam for the past few days or weeks.

Shaking his head, Kurt responds, "We've been apprehending mutants known for their activities that threaten mutant existence in the US." He says but is curious himself, given the recent apprehension of a low level mutant in Mutant Town for no real appearant reason. That being, most where known to have terroristic activities under their belts. "Perhaps you speak some truth Victor," he says using the man's name over codenames now. "I was actually to the point of trusting Alex to ponder this after his recent blow up with Ms. Cooper ... but the Massachusetts Academy thing is interferring with everyone it would seem. Head job or not, perhaps that was ..." he says, considering even without head jobbing him, they knew there would be discension merely by one X-er working cooperating with them on some level.

"Yeah. Anyway, what you say, elf, you and me gonna be buddies? Cause I could use you on an op I got." Sabes asks, with a hint of impatience at all the words that were just reflected by Kurt.

"I'm afraid I can't help," says Kurt, "I'm presently benched, Havok thought I should sit out for now because of the threat I pose to team security." He doesn't need to say much more, because the other already seems to know he's been playing in a house full of telepaths already.

With a low growl to his voice, "Fuck Havok. I need you for an op. You may be benched from his little huggy bear team, but that doesn't mean you're a cripple. It's just a simple in and out, and then we collect a check."

Holding up his hands as if meaning no harm, Kurt offers, "Simple in and out, you claiming to be on the team ..." Letting the rhetoric slip into the silence of the church, he continues, "I really need to hear it from someone I know is in the chain of command. Despite my willingness to walk into the lion's den with the Massachusetts Academy, I still believe in precedence and protocol - you know, chain-of-command." Not moving yet, but still ready in case the other makes a move, he crosses his hands a moment as if to look none threatening. "In otherwords, I need something officially saying its my job to help you," he dumbs it down in summary, probably a dumb move on his part.

Sabes reaches behind him and withdraws a X-Factor communicator button from his belt. Keeping it in his palm, he pushes the call button and says, "Sabes to Val."

A moment later, the groggy voice of Val Cooper being woken from deep sleep comes over the link, "What is it, Victor?"

"Honey, the cat's outta the bag and the elf knows about my involvement. He's standin right here. You wanna give him permission to work with me? Seems the elf can't do jack without a note from the teacher."

Being without a com device, as Alex benched him, Kurt calls out into the conversation, "What's this Val, I'm under the pretence Alex is still lead and I joined to apprehend mutant threats not proactively take out perceived threats by the government." All in his German accent no less, "What's the nature of this mission with Sabes here ..."

Val mutters under breath some profane word that is best left out of her mouth and says, "Dammit Victor..." then with a sigh she states, "Kurt, listen. X-Factor is bigger than just Alex's team. It's an organization that has many departments. Victor is in one of those /other/ departments. Call him, Special Ops, if you will. He too operates under the jurisdiction and focus of the organization, to neutralize threats that would undermine law, order, and the delicate balance of human and mutant relations. I'm sure you understand the need to keep information about Sabretooth from getting out... as he's not the face we want to project for Mutant relations."

Sabes interjects, "What's wrong, my face not pretty enough?"

"Shut up Victor. Kurt, Victor's mission is to extract a CIA operative that was captured by a Columbian druglord on the island of Santo del Mar in the Caribbean. If you like, you can accompany and assist him. You will be paid for the mission."

"Fine," says Kurt flatly, "If Val vouches for you and this is just an extraction for the cause as she sees it, I'll go Victor. I'll get you in to extract the CIA operative." He holds up one of his two fingers, folding the second with his thumb, to make a point, "This turns into some blood bath for no reason, I'll see that as a threat to Xavier's Dream. You use the box to try and control me, I'll see that as a threat just the same." He leaves it there.

Victor slides off the pew and starts walking down the isle. He scoops up his robe and ignores the box left in another pew. As he's moving toward the door, "Meet me at the Salem Center airport, hangar 7, 0`600 hours. Wear your stealth gear."
