-----==[ Gallery - Avengers Mansion ]==---------------------------------------

The Gallery is actually a long 'L' shaped hallway that wraps around from the Foyer to the Public Conference Room. The hallway is rather narrow in itself being only six feet across and the ceiling is rather low in this area as well. What is most noticeable about the gallery is the color scheme is all white. From the floor, to the walls, and up to the ceiling it is all a spotless cream white.
As you come closer and take a glance at the wall you notice that each hall, all the way through is covered completely by colorful and vivd pictures and imagery. Each picture represents an Avenger or a group of Avenger's as the roster has taken changes over time. The beginning starting at the Foyer is a group shot of the founding members and it chronologically descends through the time periods. Some of the pictures being happy full group shots, while others show the team in battle against some of their toughest foes. This room acts as a huge scrap book and photo gallery.

Namor stands in front of one of the photos, arms crossed as he stares at the image. It looks like something from the Kree-Skrull war, showing a sampling of the older veteran Avengers leaving a ship after just returning to the planet. After a moment he smirks and then walks down the hall a few steps to look at the next.

Mockingbird walks along with him, watching -him- more than the artwork in the gallery. She knows plenty of background about these works, or most of them anyway. But she figures if Namor wants a narrative he'll ask. He's a king, after all. "So if you don't mind my asking, Namor, how did you wind up here working with the Avengers? Just curious."

Namor turns to see who's speaking, then his lips quirk up in a smile. As does one eyebrow. "I was asked to join the Avengers. By Captain America," he adds after a moment, placing slight emphasis on the name. "We fought side by side as allies in war, and then our paths crossed many times over the years. At one point I was...without direction, and the Avengers are ever searching for mighty heroes to fill their ranks. Since then I've had many adventures and learned to respect the team, and the legacy." He raises one hand now, a sweeping gesture that encompasses several of the photos.

Mockingbird nods slowly, clasping hands behind her back. Of -course- he'd be asked personally by Cap. And suddenly, Bobbi feels like she's sitting at the kid's table at Thanksgiving. She smiles a little, her gaze following his gesture to the pictures around the gallery. "Yes, it's quite a legacy. And I'd forgotten that you and Cap go back so far. I'm... WE're glad to have you, of course." The smile broadens, and she manages not to blush. "So I suppose you should be the one showing ME around, then."

Namor chuckles as he turns away from the wall to face Mockingbird fully.

"Perhaps we can show each other. The Mansion is large, and I've never made an effort to explore it." He looks down the hall in one direction and then the other. "Where shall we start?

Mockingbird relaxes when he chuckles, and she chuckles as well. "To be honest, I haven't explored every nook and cranny either. If it's not between my room and the kitchen or the conference room, I probably haven't seen it. I just figured you've been around longer, is all." She shrugs, then considers. "Let's start in the lift, and see what our options are."

Namor nods. "Agreed." He begins walking for the Foyer again. "Perhaps along the way you can tell me of your own story. How did you come to be an Avenger...?"

Now stepping inside the mansion you find yourself situated in the comfortable and roomy Foyer. This is the axis point of the Mansion and every place branches off from here. While this room is only a starting point of what is to come, the luxurious manner of its looks give the feel of elegance and the upper class. Truly this is a stately manor which the Avenger's reside in.
Around the side of the room several rather large coat racks stand tall along with several oil paintings adorning the walls of the room. The carpet laid out is a lush shag brown color and flows throughout the mansion. Also the high ceiling has a small number of lights hanging from it illuminating the area. Towards the back of the room a spiraling grand stair case ascends upwards to the second level.

Mockingbird comes in from Gallery - Avengers Mansion

Mockingbird has arrived.

Mockingbird walks along with Namor, the two chatting casually. "I sort of fell into the Avengers more than anything, I think. I was recruited and trained by SHIELD while still in grad school. Clint and I met on a mutual assignment, and together we founded the West Coast Avengers."

Namor comes to a halt when Mockingbird mentions SHIELD. He gives her a sharp glance, but then seems to relax. "I see," he nods. "I didn't realize so many Avengers were associated with them. But I suppose it is only fitting - SHIELD is known for their effective fighters and agents." He comes to a stop in front of the Hydraulic Lift, waiting for it to arrive.

As the two come into the room Julia is turning away from the main entrance, purple sweatshirt in hand and about to cross to the stairway. Seeing the two in conversation she nods in greeting not wanting to intrude on their conversation should it be important.

Mockingbird finger-waves to Julia, then her attention shifts back to Namor again. "Try not to make -too- much of a face, please. Working for SHIELD isn't like working for the CIA. Much. Fury's heart is in the right place, he just doesn't trust anyone. And I think that includes himself." Wink. She pushes the button for the lift, then.

Namor nods grudgingly. "Yes, I suppose Fury is in a difficult position." The lift finally arrives now that someone has actually called for it, and Namor steps inside, turning and crossing his arms across his chest once more.

The Avengers Elevator is a rather vast and spacious place to be. With enough room to easily hold fifteen people, the ground is covered in lush red carpet and the lower ceiling is a dull white color, but looks to be clean and spotless. On the large left wall, it is comprised of one gigantic mirror and a black rail that runs horizontally through the middle. As the back and other wall are of a dark wood material. It is very well lit by small, round fluorescent lights placed in the ceiling and corners of each wall. Next to the sliding metal door, a small control panel is located with numerous red and black buttons covering its inside.

Mockingbird has arrived.

Mockingbird follows him in and considers her options. "On the subject of SHIELD, how about we start at the bottom?" she quips back. "And if I had much sympathy for Fury, I wouldn't be working for the Avengers." Pushing the button for the basement, she adds. "All the same, I'll be the first to admit it's nice being able to call on SHIELD resources when needed."

Namor steps out as the doors open. "Yes, I believe I know what you mean. A nice car, charter planes, yachts...quite convenient. But does being part of SHIELD intefere with your time as an Avenger?"

Mockingbird comes in from Hydraulic Lift - Avengers Mansion

Mockingbird has arrived.

Mockingbird shakes her head, pausing a moment to get her bearings. "Technically, I'm not really a part of SHIELD anymore. But it's not something you can actually -quit-, either. So I'm sort of on-call, and they let me borrow the toys I need. Sort of like shacking up instead of being married."

Namor laughs in appreciation of the analogy, then runs his eyes over the Gym, Simulator, Med Bay, Monitor Room. His expression doesn't show interest until it comes across the door to Equipment Storage. "I've often wondered what sort of paraphanelia the Avengers keep in their mansion. Extra arrows for Hawkeye? Spare costumes for Wonder Man?"

Mockingbird arches a slender brow at his reaction, smirking and looking just as curious. "We'd need more than a single room for Hawkeye's extra arrows." she replies, just a flicker of something more than amusement there now. "How about we take a peek for ourselves? It's not like we don't have access, and it'd be kind of stupid to booby-trap." And without waiting, she heads towards that door to try the lock.

Namor smiles after Mockinbird, then follows.

This room is made for the sole purpose of storing the equipment used by the Avengers. The different costumes of the Avengers as well as body armor and the like are lined against the wall in perfect order for whenever the need of them arises. Also stored here are high intensity weaponry along the lines of small fire arms up to scud missiles and even some lower nuclear weaponry that has been obtained through battles and taken from the villain who attempted to use it. Also other special devices used by evil metas and criminal masterminds is stored here for use later or to study. Each weapon obtained is stored in separate containers that are insulated in lead and vibrium so no harmful rays are gasses can seep out into the regular air.

Mockingbird comes in from Sub Basement - Avengers Mansion

Mockingbird has arrived.

Namor follows Mockingbird into the room before stepping to one side to look at the weapons lining that wall. "Not so unexpected," he remarks. Then he comes across a few quivers of arrows, pulling one halfway out and turning to smirk at Mockingbird before releasing it.

Mockingbird chuckles softly at his scrutiny, watching as he pulls the familiar arrow from the familiar quiver. And perhaps that's what brings about her next question. "Are you married, Namor?" she asks as casually as she'd ask about the weather. "I mean I'm not really sure how things are down in Atlantis and all, but you just seem like the kind of guy who should have a queen. Or a girlfriend. Or a harem. Or something..." And the deeper she gets into it, the darker her cheeks become.

Namor pauses, then turns to look at Mockingbird, a look of surprise on his face. "I have been married before," he admits. "But not presently. As for something...I suppose it has been too long."

Mockingbird's blush doesn't abate, but she's way too far along in the conversation to change course now. "Yeah, I know what you mean. Me too, on the 'something'..." she offers, voice lowering a bit. "I still think it's cool of you to come up here and help us out, though. And don't worry about Carol. I sometimes think she tries to be too military."

Namor's lips quirk into a smile. "As leader of the Avengers, it is her right to question my behavior...to a point." The smile turns grim as he says this last. But then he shakes his head and takes one last look around. He gestures towards the door. "Shall we continue the tour...?"

Mockingbird grins, relaxing a bit more as she nods. "Of course." she replies. Personally, she has no complaints about Carol. Between starting up the West Coast Avengers and overseeing the Great Lakes chapter, Bobbi knows all about the burden of leadership. Giving Hawkeye's spare quiver a last look, she steps out into the hallway.

Namor looks about to re-familiarize himself with the rooms connected to the central area, then points to the Computer Center. "Another room I have no recollection of being in," he admits. "Shall we?"

Mockingbird half-smiles at his choice, then she nods. "A computer center in the basement? Oh, I think we definitely need to check this out." she agrees. And then she's moving towards the door to open it, allowing him to enter first.

This is the main computer terminal for the whole mansion and headquarters alike. Any and all information is processed through here on anything and everything that happens throughout. The major memory banks as well as the generator, battery room, and fuel room that run the mansion are all found inside this place. A large computer console as well as VCR and many TV monitors set on a table laid against the wall in this dimly lit room. On each monitor a different room of the house is being watched upon by the strategically placed surveillance cameras inside and outside of the mansion parameters. Also the main computer memory is stored here with information on any criminal or any person known on the planet Earth. So information can be obtained from here no matter how obscure they are.

Namor looks around curiously, then stops. His gaze in resting on the banks of monitors showing the images of rooms inside of the Mansion itself. He stares for a long time, slowly shifting his gaze from one to the next. No view of private areas, of course, but perhaps a surprise how much IS being covered by surveillance, from every nook in every hallway to the most casual of areas like the Den and the Pool.

Mockingbird has apparently similar ideas, and makes a point to check out the locations that are monitored. "Looks like the mansion is pretty completely wired." she offers. And while no private areas are monitored, it wouldn't take a lot to figure out who goes where with whom. Then again, having worked for SHIELD she really isn't surprised. "And now we know. But there's nothing in -this- room that I can see."

Namor is still studying the view of the pool, brows slowly drawing together as an angry crease develops between his eyes. "Yes..." he answers absently. Then his expression turns to one of understanding. "Yes." he says again, turning to face Mockingbird. This time a look of wary amusement on his face. "Anything in this room would go unseen to others."

Mockingbird notes his expression, as well as attention to the pool monitor. She clears her throat quietly, then offers. "For the record, Namor, I'm not the sort of person to get off on watching other people on hidden camera. If I wanted to watch you swim, I'll just come right down to the pool for a first-hand look..." And then she catches the amusement on his face, the implication in his words. And her cheeks darken again.

Namor smiles knowingly, then gestures at the chairs and workstations around the room, one of which has an Avengers-themed coffee cup half-full sitting on the desc. "Although surely this room is occupied frequently. It woudl be a good place to talk. No more."

Mockingbird follows his gesture, taking note of the coffee cup. She lightly touches the mug with the backs of her fingers. "It's cold." she offers casually. "If you wanted, Namor, I could rig the pool camera on a loop so that you can swim in more privacy. Not that you have anything to hide, of course. It's just... rude... sometimes."

Namor shakes his head and then adds a casual brushing-away gesture vaguely in the direction of that monitor. "No need. I know that the pool is monitored now, and I have no objection." He glances around the rest of the room once more. "Interesting that you can confound the cameras. Something you learned in your time with SHIELD?"

Mockingbird leans her butt against the arm of a chair, resting her hands there as well for balance. She chuckles softly. "One of the many things I learned in secret-agent school, yeah. SHIELD is very good at training good people to do questionable things. While I can't fault their training program, it's one reason I'm no longer with them."

Namor purses his lips, nodding. "In the underseas SHIELD is known only as the dreaded spy apparatus of the surface world. Secret and deadly and infinite in numbers." He shrugs. "The reality seems to be they are no better or worse than agents of espionage from Atlantis, or Lemuria." He pauses and then adds, "On average. There are, of course, exceptions."

Mockingbird tilts her head, looking both curious and amused at this assessment. She folds her arms over her chest and replies. "Thanks for the vote of confidence. I'm not sure whether that's a compliment or not." And for all that, she's still half-smiling. "It might help if I was more familiar with Atlantis or Lemuria."

Namor quirks his eyebrow. "Indeed..." He rubs his chin thoughtfully. "Few from the surface realms have been undersea. Truly seen the undersea," he clarifies absently. "Not just 'scuba'." He turns his head towards the nearest computer and then slowly, painstakingly logs in and tries to do...something. After only a few moments, he hisses in frustration. Then he turns to Mockingbird, SHIELD-trained surface native. "Perhaps you could help me...I am attempting to access the inventory and manifests. Does our equipment room still contain underwater breathing devices?"

Mockingbird pushes off of the chair with a casual forward lean, unfolding her arms in the process. "Let me look." she replies. Flashing him a bit of a smile, she slides into the chair closest to him and swivels it around to face the monitor. Bringing up the login screen, the computer keys sound like automatic weapon fire as she enters name and password. Click. Click-click. And... click. "Here we go." she offers, half-turning in the chair so that he can take a look. "There's scuba, but also some deep-sea rigs. I can check, but I'm sure we have vehicles that are capable at depth as well."

Namor nods approvingly as he leans forward over the back of Mockingbird's chair, slightly to one side so he can hover over her shoulder. Not quite crowding but with the typical non-technical-person's disregard for how distracting it can be. "Excellent. Yes, yes those should suffice. I have access to a submersible vehicle, so that shouldn't be an issue. For that matter, I could provide the means for air-breathers to function underwater, but I would have to visit Atlantis to retrieve these." He reaches over Mockingbird's shoulder to tap the screen, slight circles of distortion appearing on the screen where his finger jabs. "This is perfect."

Does Bobbi MIND when the buff King of Atlantis leans over her shoulder? Hardly. In fact, if his hearing was keen enough he'd likely pick up her accelerated pulse with his proximity. "You could?" she asks, turning her head quickly in time to stare right at his bicep when he points. Blue eyes widen for a moment, then she clears her throat and agrees. "Um, yeah. Perfect. And I suppose you -would- have stuff for us air-breathers. Don't guest you get a lot of tourists, though."

Namor straightens up, crossing his arms now, his posture practically oozing with... satisfaction? surety? No, more like the confidence of someone who has a plan and knows it's going to work. Or so he believes. "No, but that's going to change. It's time for the surface-world to understand the undersea realms. Past time. But no matter. I will make them understand." He seems to realize where he is and how close he's getting to monologuing. He turns his head to look at some of the security screens showing the Avengers' facilities. "But we start small. With the Avengers. Only this time, not to help fight off an invasion or a rebellion or some such. No, this time it will be a...diplomatic visit." He blinks, then seems to think of something else. "But before that, perhaps one Avenger would accompany me. To ensure the transport and the breathing devices work, and to let the people of Atlantis grow accustomed to the idea before dropping some oaf like Hercules in their mix." His tone turns wryly amused when he disparages Hercules, the way it always does. It's an old habit between those two. But then Namor turns to look squarely at Bobbi. Expectantly.

Mockingbird slowly swivels her chair around to look at him more directly, and she openly appreciates the view. She doesn't seem to mind the monologuing at all, and she even grins a little when he takes a shot at Hercules. Her blue eyes go wide, then, and it takes her a moment to pick up on the offer. "Me? Oh, I'd -love- to visit Atlantis, Namor. And I promise I'll be on my best behavior. I'll be there as Mockingbird, not as SHIELD Agent Bobbi Morse." The awe softens and her smile returns, then. "So when can we go?"

Namor smiles broadly. "Whenever you are ready." He considers further. "Although...it is a trip of several hours, in either direction. Best plan to stay for a night or two. At least." He gestures at the monitors, seemingly his new favorite way to refer to the Avengers or Avengers-related business. "You are on the active duty roster, correct?"

Mockingbird grins up at him, anticipation eager in her blue eyes. "I sure am, yeah, so I'm covered under the Avengers insurance policy." Not like that's his primary interest behind the question, of course, but still. The blonde rises, then adds. "Let me go and pack a few things, then." After consideration, she adds. "Probably bathing suits." And Bobbi doesn't -quite- skip on her way out.
