==[ Penthouse Level - X-Factor Tower/Ship ]==

The Penthouse level is three floors (45 feet high) subdivided into three distinct areas; the pool area, the gathering hall, and the lounge.

The floor itself is wide open and allowing flow between those areas without walls or major obstructions. Additionally, all four sides, including the roof, is made of polarizing transparent metal. This allows for sunlight to stream in from all directions, visualization into, out of, or one way, and of course total polarization preventing light completely.

The Pool Area - The swimming pool is a marvel of alien technology. It occupies all 45 feet including has roof access. As a standard pool, it is sunken into the main floor of the penthouse, but then has static and flowing water areas which allow for movement from the lower pool to the rooftop pool via swimming or back down via waterfall/slide. This is made possible by gravitational adjustments by Ship allowing the water to stand vertically, diagonally and horizontally. This means that if someone were to wish to swim from the penthouse floor to the rooftop, it would be possible. The pool area also offers a 'outdoor kitchen' area where one can prepare full meals.

The Gathering Hall - This area is malleable to serve whatever purpose deemed necessary. Presently it presents as a dance floor with stage. However, it can take the shape of a great dining hall, a basketball court, volleyball court, tennis court, and so on.

The Lounge Area - This area is devoted to the relaxation part of the top floor. Where those can sit back, relax and watch a very large projection screen. The area is near to the pool. Walls can be constructed to block out light, noise, distractions and so on.

=======================================================================

It's late morning and while outside of the tower a variety of city noises fill the air, in the tower it is much more peaceful. The large screen TV in the penthouse is on, but the sound is muted, so the only noise is that created by the waterfull that flows from the pool.

At a table, facing the TV is Dani, but she pays the thing no attention, having no interest in the alien talk show that is being aired. Instead her focus is on the screen of the laptop in front of her and whatever it is she is listening to via the headphones on her ears.

There's a faint sqeaking sound, like the sound of sneakers skidding, somewhere in the direction of the stairway. Then it comes again, 'closer' this time and a little louder (but probably still not loud enough to be heard over the sound of Dani's headphones). Finally a door slides open revealing a stairway, and Rush standing there, panting lightly. His previously new shirt is drenched in sweat.

Shadowcat was relaxing in the pool in a bikini as she flew around a prototype flying craft via remote control, by the looks of it self made. "Hey Rush, what's up?"

She certainly wouldn't be able to hear footsteps, but whatever she is watching isn't loud enough to drown out voices. Glancing up from the screen upon hearing Kitty's greeting, she hits a button on the keyboard and pulls the retro headphones down to hang around her neck "Morning. There is coffee in the kitchen, that I /didn't/ make," she has to stress that part, since her coffee making skills are way below average "or help yourself to anything there. How are you settling in?

Rush's eyes linger for just a moment too long on Shadowcat but then he seems to realize he's staring and has the good grace to be slightly embarrassed about it. Looking away, he replies "Uh, just trying a new workout. When Nightcrawler - Kurt - got the SHIP to make those stairs for me to run, got me thinking about how I used to train." He peers in the direction of the kitchen, then admits slowly, "I'm not a big coffee drinker. Doesn't seem to do much for me." Then he shrugs it off, looking back at Dani. "You guys got any soda?"

Dani makes a gesture toward the bar area where her and Kitty are and then toward the kitchen "There and there. Take your pick." closing the laptop she turns in her chair so she can face both Kitty and Rush. "You may be interested in some of the programs in the training room, especially if you are looking for a challenge.

Shadowcat chuckles "I'm sure we have some around" Lockheed coming up out of the water crooning "I can program the training for anything you might want." noticing the look from rush she smirked at dani, keeping quiet about dani and her former swimwear or lack there of.

Rush heads over to the kitchen area, poking in a few drawers with the skill of an expert at mooching food from relatives or friends. "What kind of programs?" he calls back. "Conditioning work? Or do you mean like practive fighting?"

Shadowcat splashes lockheed playfully "Anything imaginable!" she announces "It works like advanced hologram tech"

"Both. If it can be imagined the training room can make it happen." Dani expounds on what Kitty has said as she notes the expression from the woman with a slight chuckle. "Foreign lands, alien worlds, typical exercise or a reenactment of the ninja clan wars in feudal Japan.

Rush emerges from the kitchen with a bowl of cereal, an entire 2-liter bottle of some orange soda, and a bannana. "Kind of like a video game, huh? Only you get to play IN it instead of playing it?" He pauses and then rubs at a spot on his arm where the skin's still a bit red and tender looking. Probably from his audition earlier this week. "Does it hurt?"

Ding, the elevator opens to reveal Alex. He steps out and glances around at his peeps. Then says, "Hey hey." in a casual greeting. Presently he wears his super suit (black with gold affectations) - which is most of the time, saves on doing the wash.

Shadowcat chuckles with a nod "Oh yeah if it hits it hurts alright, as real as real life" Lockheed using his tail t splash Kitty back "Hey Alex"

"We usually like to keep some safeties on when we are running scenarios." Dani folds her arms over the back of her chair "The last thing we want is to be seriously injured in a training session." turning to see who the elevator will be letting off, not there there are to many choices, she lifts a hand in greeting "Morning Alex.

Rush sets down his bowl, the drink and then peels his bananna, quickly chowing down. "That's awesome!" he gushes, voice filled with genuine approval. And maybe a hint of wonder. Their -training room- has safeties? "You guys are takin' it to that whole other level, aren't you?" The last few words are said around a mouthful of cereal as he begins to dig in.

Seeing that the conversation is focused on training, Alex moves across the room to somewhere he can gather food and will add, "Speaking of, someone needs to put Rush though the initial training scenarios to get him acclimated and then we can get him up to speed on team tactics."

Shadowcat laughs "We play and work at a whole other level. You sure you filled him in fully Alex?" buzzing her flying craft prototype just over alex's head.

Dani chuckles at the seeming awe of Rush, "And probably beyond." when Alex speaks up about training of the new guy she assumes he is asking for volunteers "We should probably be taking turns at that. I have winter break starting next week, so If someone wants to start the traininf scenarios I can continue them until break is over.

The cereal bowl is half empty now, as Rush practically inhales it. He then twists off the top of the soda, which makes a loud hissing noise. "I'm ready for anything, guys," he says to Alex. He has the orange soda halfway to his mouth, but is momentarily distracted by Kitty's flying prototype. "I've mostly been doing some cardio and stamina work on my own, but I'll add whatever routines ya'll thing I need." After saying that he tilts the bottle back and begins chugging it down.

Alex glances to Kitty, figuring that Rush has already developed a crush on her since she's the most mouthy and they're about the same age, "Kitty, you want to start him out - you seem to be connected to SHIP pretty good."

Kitty nods zipping her remote controlled aircraft around alex's head before zipping just above rush's "I'm sure I can put together...something" even lockheed chuckles, that can't be a good sign.

"We want to break him in Kitty, not break him." Dani says to her "Big difference." she pulls the headphones off and sets them on her laptop, then goes to refill her coffee mug "Save that for the bad guys."

Rush dusts off his hands and then intertwines his fingers, turning his palms away and flexing his arms to pop his knuckles. Then he ducks slightly, out of reflex, as the aircraft comes close. "Uh...yeah. Well don't worry 'bout me, I can take a hit."

Alex grins at Rush's remark and grabs a bagel with a tube of cream cheese. He then starts walking toward the elevator. He'll comment to Dani, "Make it so, number one."

Shadowcat looks innocently at dani "What? He said he's ready for anything, I want to test that theory. Sides this is fun on a playground for me, I been doing it since I was 13. Is it my fault I forget what level we opperate at?" snickering as a grin breaks out on her face yup totally kidding bout most of that.

Doctoring her coffee with some milk and sugar, Dani shakes her head at Kitty, "Guess you will learn the hard way, like the rest of us did." she asides to Rush. As Alex makes his scifi reference form of acknowledgement, she gives him a nod and a wink in response.

Rush puts away the remains of his...lunch? Too late for that. Dinner? No, too early. Mid-workout snack? Possibly. Then he rolls his shoulders a few times, heading for the stairs. "Got a few more suicides to run and then I'll meet you at the training room...if that's all right?" He looks at Kitty questioningly. He is still the rookie after all.
