Social or Plot:

-----==[ Central Park - New York ]==------------------------------------------

Stretching half a mile wide down two and a half miles of the island, Central Park is the green heart of Manhattan. Despite an occasionally ugly reputation, fewer than a hundred crimes occurred in the entire park last year, and fewer than half of those were committed by strangers - the legendary Central Park mugger is a thing of the past. Instead, the park is a thriving place, filled with artificial lakes, footpaths, joggers, playgrounds, sculpture, children.
There are dozens of landmarks within the Park: the Great Lawn where open-air concerts and rallies are regularly held; Cleopatra's Needle, the obelisk donated to New York by Egypt; the Alice statue north of Conservatory Water, its giant mushroom usually swarmed by climbing kids; Belvedere Castle and Bethesda Terrace and Literary Walk and the Delacorte Theater and one of the last stands of American elms in the northeast - nearly two thousand trees protected from plague by their isolation.
Near the south end of the park, the Imagine mosaic in Strawberry Fields is frequently marked by flowers or candles left by visitors. Nearer the north end, the Reservoir covers a hundred and six acres, almost an eighth of the park's total space - though it no longer provides drinking water for New York residents, a decision that has cut down significantly on the number of supervillain attacks on the Park.

Namor walks through the park, or perhaps storms through it would be a better description. He's wearing business attire, but it looks like he's been through a windstorm. Or more likely he's been flying while wearing it. But right now the Atlantean is on foot, walking down paths and occasionally stopping to ask people if they have seen a horse-drawn carriage.

Several people have, although one rather drunk gentleman notes that Central Park /always/ has several horse carriages about, but points Namor in the direction of the barns where they were kept when resting up or not on duty.

There, Tanya was tending to the only black horse there, Khan, brushing him down carefully. out of her primpy tuxedo suit, she was just in jeans, an old tshirt with her hair back in a braid as she carefully tended to the animal, one white bandage wrapped around a rear leg.

Namor marches towards the barn, pausing to examine the horses he sees before approaching Tanya hers. "You!" he excaims as he approaches.

Tanya straightens abruptly, peering over the stall in surprise. She was the only one in there, and recognising Namor, her eyes widen, her facepaling a little bit. She exited the stall, brushing some loose hair from her face "Oh. Hello again sir." she replies, a tone of nervousness in her voice as she approaches him.

"'Hello' indeed," Namor remarks, examining Tanya for the briefest moment, then turning to Khan and holding out a hand in front of his nose. Namor's eyes are drawn to the bandage. "And this is the land-horse," he remarks.

The horse flicks his ears, but sniffs, much calmer than he was now than the other day when he was white-eyed and scared to sweating. Tanya watches, pensive, and then nods "Yes, Khan is his name. I am VERY sorry about what happened yesterday. He spooked at a mutant, and I do hope your insurance will cover it... Sorry I did not get your number right away though. IT was a little hectic." she explains quickly.

Lyra does hear the voices thanks to her enhanced senses and so heads towards barns. Her hair is a bit disheveled, maybe she was just sleeping somewhere or something, of course it is the park.

Namor quirks an eyebrow. "My 'insurance'," he beings, tone wry, "Doesn't cover damages when super-powered individuals are present on the scene. One of the stipulations when the adjusters were told that I myself had powers. Which effectively means my vehicle has no coverage time I present." He snorts. "But I don't disgree with them." he continues, his moment of irritation gone.

Tanya tenses at that news, and ohs softly "Oh uhm... sorry to hear that. I think the Stables may have a ... clause? I thik that's the word... to cover it." she offesr a card "Here is the number... They may be able to help. I /am/ very sorry about that though. My name is Tanya Riviera by the way..." she pauses, glancing over as another silhouette appears in the stable doors. Lyra.

Lyra does tower a bit at her almost six and a half feet height and then there is that green skin. She shakes her head, running her fingers through her hair, "Was sleeping nearby heard voices." she murrmers softly and glances towards the two.

Namor takes the card, puts it away in a pocket without looking and then examines the horse again. "Perhaps we can come to another arrangement..." he trails off and then looks back at Lyra. His expression looks irritated once again, until he takes in her appearance. "You were sleeping nearby?" He repeats.

"An arrangement? I dont d-" she cuts off as the man speaks to the other girl, and raises an eyebrow "What, you too? It seems somedays that the homeless shelters are more empty than the streets." she remarks.

Lyra shakes her head, "Was a little sleepy, and been to some of those shelters, ate at one yesterday, but there were others that needed the bed more." she shakes her head and then nods, "Was just looking around a bit. I appologize if I was interupting."

Namor turns away from Khan so that he can look at Tanya and Lyra more easily. "Who are you?" he asks, his tone imperious. The way of one who's used to always getting an answer, and expects to get one this time as well. "You're dressed like a warrior, your skin is green like the Hulk. And you sleep in the park?"

Tanya frowns at Lyra "There is no such thing as 'need it more' if you are sleeping outside or they are. It is just stupid to not accept charity." she states crisply, almost in a mothering way "There are more than enough beds for everyone if people would just stop being so prideful. I know because every week I direct someone to one homeless shelter or another. It is tiresome. What IS with Americans and pride? " she asks the air, folding her arms. Khan snorts.

Lyra looks at Namor for a moment and then Tanya. She shrugs a bit, "Well there are reasons that I am dressed as a warrior, and my skin is green like the Hulk." she says and shakes her head, "I am Lyra." she offers, then shrugs to Tanya, "Not prideful, just no money, no nothing really, long story. And I am not American." she chuckles a bit.

Tanya shrugs "No money is no excuse. Nobody else in the shelters have money."

"No doubt you have your reasons," Namor nods after a bit, grundgingly. "But the Hulk is a, friend of mine." There's a slight hesitation before he says the word 'friend'. "And the She-Hulk a frequent ally. I trust these 'reasons' are not something that would concern them? Or the Avengers?" He adds that last part almost as an afterthought.

Lyra cocks her head to the side, "It would affect The Hulk more than She-Hulk but there is a little for both. Not sure how it would affect the Avengers." she says and thinks for a moment and looks back to Tanya, and shakes her head, "Sorry, still get confused by some things of this world of yours."

Tanya unfolds her arms, then sighs a little bit, glancing to Khan, and then back once more "Did you have any questions then ma'am?" she asked, awkwardly as the conversation had been interrupted by her arrival.

"This world of 'ours'?" Namor's eyebrow quirks up again. "Which is your world, then?"

Lyra looks back and forth, "As I said I am interupting, I appologize," she looks at Namor, "A different Earth, a world at war and vastly different than this one. The most obvious fact of such at the moment being that I am here talking with a male not fighting him."

Namor turns so that he's facing Lyra more squarely now, re-evaluating her. She's smaller than She-Hulk...although that's not exactly saying much. "...and what brought you here?"

Tanya furrows her brow a little in confusion and looks at Namor, and then back "Sorry, I do not understand what you said." she admits finally.

Lyra cocks her head to the side, "Why I am here? It isn't that important, something with wrong with transport and I am stuck here without means of communication, or means of anything really." she shakes her head and then looks at Tanya, "I come from another dimension, another Earth. There things are vastly different than here." she says softly. "It is a long story, though could tell if you wanted." she shakes her head and looks back to Namor. She is getting a little frustrated and it makes her a little angry. She takes a few deep breaths easily calming, "I probably should leave you two to talk." she looks at Namor, "You are of the Avengers then?"

Namor tenses slightly as Lyra shows signs of anger. It's a natural reaction when someone with green skin gets angry. He nods slightly. "Yes." Then he admits, "Sometimes. It's complicated. So you came here by mistake, but now you are trapped here? And what are your intentions?"

Tanya shifts a little bit nervously herself, but perhaps for differnet reasons. She glances to Khan, who was currently standing in a corner of the stall, head down, his forehead against the corner, 'sleeping'. A relaxed smile and she looks back once more "Should I get some chairs maybe if we're going to talk? I think there's coffee left." She suggests.

Lyra shrugs a little, "Yes I am trapped here and my intentions are survival." she says and shakes her head, "I suppose I should contact my father, tell him of my existance and see if he can help me at least find a job or something." She looks over at Namor and then back to Tanya, "If you wish, I could assist." she says softly.

Namor seems surprised at the comment for some reason, but then he nods. "Perhaps that would be a good idea. Who is your father, exactly?" The way he asks it makes it sound as if he's almost afraid to hear the answer but can't help himself. "The Avengers try to keep apprised of the current location of many of those we associate with."

Tanya shakes her head 'no that's fine." she remarks, turning to leave, and coming back with three folding chairs, one for each of them as she hands them out "You said oyur name was Lyra?"

Namor takes one of the chairs, looks at it blankly for a moment and then sets it down, although he doesn't sit...yet.

Tanya watches Lyra leave, and glances back to Namor "Well, THAT was interesting!" She remarks

Namor nods thoughtfully. "And something tells me it will only grow more so..." he muses, then shakes off the pensive mood. A noise from Khan draws his attention back that way, and Namor seems to remember where they left off before being interrupted. "So about my car..."

Tanya ohs and looks away, and then back once more "Ah yes, the car. We were speaking of that indeed. So if insurance doesnt cover it from the Stable company..."

You say, "And you normally drive a carriage, correct? Around the park, and other parts of New York?"

Tanya nods "Yes. Usually around preplanned routes in the park, but for special occasions we do alternate routes depending what the person wants. " she explains, tilting her head in puzzlement at where this may be going.

You say, "The perhaps if you can take a friend on a ride...as a favor, I would consider the damage to the car to be 'covered'."

Tanya hrms and rubs her chin a little bit, raising both eyebrows in surprise "... Just one ride? " she asks, surprised at this low offer.

Namor smiles. "Just one ride," he affirms. "That should be enough." Then he looks at Khan once again, then smirks. "Only...please be certain that this one is not so eventful as the last."

Tanya laughs softly "I cannot make any guarantees if another mutant decides to randomly sneeze, but with me in the driver's seat, it SHOULD be a little less exciting I promise." She notes, starting to relax, and look quite relieved.

Namor puts a hand over the pocket where he put away Tanya's card. "Then I will be in touch," he nods, before striding out of the barn. There's the faintest of fluttering and a whisking sound from outside as he takes to the skies.

Tanya smiles again, and sighs in relief, sitting back "... that went better than I thought. In more than one way." she remarks
