Character Details
Ancient Greece
- Born around 1300 BC., it becomes obvious quickly that he is not like other boys. His birth weight is an astounding thirteen pounds and he grows straight upward, like a tree.
- It is soon revealed that Hercules is the son of Zeus, who trysted with his mother under the nose of his wife Hera. This results in an emnity between the Goddess and her husband's bastard son that will continue to haunt Hercules throughout his days.
-Hercules lost not one but two wives and several children to tragedies, to which he attributes most of the blame to the Gods, but also to his own great rage as he destroys anything in his path in response to provocation and eventually takes the life of his own family. He embarks ona campaign of heroics and vengeance which eventually takes him to Mt. Olympus. Along the way he allies himself with Athena, encounters Aphrodite, and becomes the mortal enemy of Ares, God of War. In battle, he slays Ares' half-mortal son Kyknos.
- To repent his sins, Hercules undertakes twelve labors, which become amongst his greatest known acts.
- Hercules takes Deianara to wife.
- Deianara is tricked into killing Hercules by a dying centaur using a shirt soaked in the centaur's blood and that of a Hydra.
- Hercules ascends, chosen by Zeus to become a Demi God, to the outrage of Ares. He is now immortal.
-At some time thereafter, Hercules meets Thor.
Modern day
-Thor and Hercules have long since become friends out of respect for one another's strength. They fight together on several occasions. Both tangle with the Hulk periodically.
- The Enchantress uses her powers to convince Hercules to combat the Avengers. After a narrow defeat, Herc is easily convinced to join the team.
-Ares often attacks the Avengers and becomes a classic enemy of the team. Their emnity only grows as time passes.
- Hercules helps found the Champions, fighting against Hippolyta and Pluto. He ends up in a relationship with Black Widow, which ends due to insecurities on Natasha's part, but leaves them on very good terms.
- Hercules fights Baron Helmut Zemo and the Masters of Evil. He is defeated by Goliath, Mister Hyde, and the Wrecking Crew, who manage to beat him into a coma. Following a battle between the Avengers and the Olympians who blame them for Herc's condition, Herc is healed by Prometheus.
- Herc confronts the High Evolutionary's plans to force humanity to evolve to new heights and defeats him. This is achieved through his transcendance by evolving 'beyond Godhood'. He eventually is able to return to his normal form.
- Hercules leaves the Avengers.
-Hercules is nearly forced into the form of a Celestial. He is once again saved by Thor.
- Hercules rejoins as a reserve member of the Avengers for Operation Galactic Storm. During the course of the war, he becomes strongly sympathetic to the Kree empire, who he believes was largely deceived by their Supreme Intelligence, which he attempts to destroy (alongside Iron Man and others). He refuses an offer to become an active member again after the events of the storyline leave him disgruntled and uncertain as to the team's future and his feelings on the matter.
-As of his start on the game, Herc is just coming to the conclusion that he should work with the team more frequently once again.
