Character Details

  • Neena Thurman was the result of a top-secret U.S. government breeding program intended to develop the perfect weapon. Project Armageddon was designed to use a precognitive mutant named Beatrice.
  • Neena was one of only two test subjects to survive the program, but her "luck" power was deemed a failure. It didn't seem to meet the project's goals.
  • While she was still a young teenager, Neena's mother and her cult, the Armajesuits stole her away from the program.
  • Beatrice delivered the girl to a priest in Chicago.
  • Neena stayed in his care for a few years, until shortly before adulthood when she ran away to start her life on her own.
  • Having already received training as a child and teenager at Project Armageddon, Neena quickly forged a distinguished career in many fields of covert activity. Both as a government operative and a freelance mercenary.
  • One of her early jobs, while working for the NSA was being assigned to bodyguard the genius Dr. Milo Thurman.
  • Milo and Neena fell in love and were officially married. Milo coined Neena's nickname 'Domino' and it's stuck with her ever since.
  • The two were separated after a raid on the facility by AIM members, with Milo believing Dom had been killed, and with her believing the same for him, when really the government just put him into even deeper hiding.
  • Not long after this, Domino found herself on Genosha and she joined the Brotherhood.
  • Dom's background in covert ops and as a mercenary, coupled with her skills, quickly led to her inclusion as one of the foremost members of the Brotherhood. Instantly distancing herself from the average runaway mutant with angst issues. She's not the leader, how could she be, with Magneto's son in the group. /Of course/ Quicksilver holds that position. She does tend to heavily influence their policy and plans though, due to her background and skills.
  • When possible, Dom tries to minimize civilian casualties; she's no monster, just a professional fighting a war for her kind and their right to be treated the same as normal people.
  • She has stuck with the Brotherhood, through Quicksilver's disappearance to his father's side and after the Sentinel attack and through Magneto's return. The team needed someone to keep it from falling apart in these tumultuous events and rally it. Mutantkind still needs the group to defend them, and she and her team will be ready.
