Character Details
- Tyrone Johnson was an unremarkable stuttering kid from the slums of South Boston.
- When he was 17, his stuttering problem made it impossible to warn his best friend that he was about to get hit by a car. Ty was grief-stricken, and ran away from home.
- Finding himself in New York City, Ty survived by stealing purses. He was preparing to steal the purse of a rich-looking young girl, when someone else beat him to the punch. Ty found himself in the unlikely position of helping a girl that he had originally intended to rob. Adding insult to injury, his intended target befriended him and offered him the money he needed.
- Ty and the girl, Tandy, quickly became friends. When Tandy accepted an offer of shelter from some really shady guys, Ty tagged along to watch out for her.
- Ty's instincts were proven right, for all the good it did him. The teenagers were experimented on by some criminals, and given what appeared to be a synthetic form of heroin. Of all of the test subjects, only Ty and Tandy survived.
- The two made an escape attempt, during which they discovered that some sort of special abilities had been unlocked within them. Ty's appearance changed and he found himself craving the life force of others. He covered his newly-freakish body with a cloak, and began using Cloak as his street name.
- Cloak and Tandy (now going by Dagger) managed to avoid recapture, and began using their newfound abilities to try to make the world a better place. Unlike the majority of superheroes, they focused their efforts on improving the lives of ordinary people, and shutting down criminals like the ones who abducted them in the first place.
- Recently, the pair have uncovered additional details about their history. A demonic entity known as D'Spayre was using the drug trials as a test to find candidates to recieve portions of his soul. The knowledge that their powers come from a mystic source rather than a drug-related one has made very little impact on the duo. They continue to fight for the common man, and make ends meet to the best of their abilities.
