- Given the name Clarice Ferguson by her parents, Blink was born with an unusual pink/purple skin pigmentation, though her abilities did not manifest until later in life.
- At the age of four, she moved from the Bahamas to Miami with her family. Her parents believed that a larger population would result in more mutants, ensuring acceptance for their daughter.
- Blink's abilities first manifested themselves in her teens, a visit to the family doctor and mutant sympathizer. A routine examination lead to the creation of unstable and unfocused portals, seperating the doctor's head from his body.
- Afraid of what she was becoming and terrified of hurting her family, Blink fled her home.
- While living on the streets, Blink slowly grew more confident in her abilities, utilizing them to steal food and money to live. She became invisible, moving from place to place silently. Evading the law as she travelled the country.
- During a stay in New York, Blink is caught stealing by the Police, the mutant evading capture and teleporting away. The first time she has succesfully teleported herself. The story made the headlines, drawing the attention of Magneto.
- Catching up with her, Magneto offered Blink a home on Genosha. The young mutant accepted, tired of running and hiding. While there, she honed her abilities and gained a strong understanding of her powers, assisting Magneto with transportation.
- After the sentinel attack on Genosha, Blink was infuriated by Magneto's manipulations, siding with Polaris and Scarlet Witch to overthrow him, finally teleporting him away from Genosha and assisting with the rebuilding effort.
- After the arrival of Magneto and his assertion of control over the rebuilt Genosha, Blink fled to New York City.
Focused - Blink keeps calm and focused when utilizing her ability, a trait that she picked up after her first accident. Knowing that the smallest lapse in concentration could be disastrous, she stays silent, concentrating on her situation entirely.
Empathic - While her stoic silence in action portrays and air of apathy, Blink cares deeply about the plight of others, always wanting to 'do the right thing', this aspect of her personality was recently abused by Magneto, the mutant believing she was doing the right thing for her people.
Survivor - Having spent time living on the streets, Blink developed a strong survival instinct. Her want to continue living led to the development of strong opportunistic skills. She has even turned to theft and robbery as a means to her own survival.
Social - Her time away from home taught Blink that everyone needs to talk at some point, the girl often sharing stories with other runaways. Blink is openly social when in the company of others, able to confidenty to friends and strangers alike.
Assertive - The confidence Blink possesses in her ability to talk to people also reaches further than that, the girl able to take command of a situation or even lead people if it is required.
Good Humoured - Despite her past demons, Blink can still put a smile on a situation, the girl believing that everyone needs to let their hair down once in a while. While she doesn't stand around cracking jokes, she can appreciate a good one.
Imaginative - Blink's study of various maps and books has led to a good appreciation of travelogues and books on the subject of exploring and travel. She is always willing to explore a little further than the guidebooks allow, considering herself rather adventurous.
TELEPORTATION: Utilizing her ability to transport matter, Blink is able to generate portals around herself and others in close proximity to her. In terms of range, Blink's is able to use her ability to freely teleport to any location on the planet. While her reach may be far, too many ports can render her exhausted, the same effect occuring if she ports too many people at once. The range of her ability shortens the more mass she is shifting, meaning that transporting five people or a very large item would reduce the reach of her ability dramatically, as well as tax her mind into exhaustion.
PORTALS: Blink is able to create teleportation portals around objects and people, shifting the matter to any area of her choosing. Be it a long or short distance, she if often very accurate. She is also able to focus the portals around small javelins that she carries around with her, able to throw thes javelins and transport objects (or, rather gruesomely, parts of objects) that they strike. Objects teleported by Blink are engulfed with a bright pink light, vanishing with a loud "BLINK" noise.
HEIGHTENED SPATIAL AWARENESS: Blink's ability to transport matter requires a strong knowledge of her surroundings (One does not wish to 'port into a desk or wall). She is able to step into a room and list the items and people contained within, so that should she need to use her abilities, she can focus her mind on the precise location of each item or person.
COMBAT: Blink possesses a strong knowledge in self defense and close quarters combat. This is coupled with her ability to accurately and toss spears and javelins makes for quite the formidable opponent.
FIRST_AID: Blink's knowledge of first aid is limited to quick fixes and temporary bandages. While possessing no official training, she knows how to bind cuts and sprains.
GEOGRAPHY: Due to the nature of her ability, Blink has spent lengths of time studying maps of both the world and local areas. Her skill is strong enough that she can predict her current location from the stars or any nearby landmarks. The study of maps and books, Blink has developed a healthy desire to see more of the world's landmarks, often considering herself quite the sightseer. Her power to teleport has been given her the ability to view many landmarks from several different angles, often where people are rarely allowed to tread.
APARTMENT: Blink rents a small appartment in Brooklyn, within running distance of the Park Slope area. A small apartment with all the regular trimmings, bed, kitchen and bathroom, it provides Blink with an area to keep her possessions, though the girl is rarely there.
WAGE: After siding with Polaris and Scarlet Witch, Blink is occasionally paid for services that she completes on behalf of the sisters. While not her only source of income, it is enough to keep food on the table and a roof over her head.
WANDA AND LORNA: After assisting in otherthrowing Magneto as leader of Genosha, Blink remains loyal to the daughters of the house of Magnus. She has left Genosha with them and now assists in any way they may require.
EMOTIONS: Blink is haunted by her past mistakes. In particular, her first manifestation of powers, which led to the loss of an innocent life. Often the subject of nightmares and never the subject of conversation, Blink's intense concentration when using her power stems from a fear that she may make the same mistake again.
OBVIOUS MUTANT: Lavendar skin, long pink hair, pointed ears and glowing green eyes are from normal attributes for homo sapiens. Blink is a very obvious mutant and has been from a young age, causing the girl to frequently hide her features when out in public.
ENEMIES: Blink's past actions have led her to develop a less than favourable reputation with the various police departments around the country. From petty stealing to resisting arrest, Blink certainly has a file. That and the fact that she is rather hard to capture due to her teleportation, make her a tempting target for many individuals who work under the book of law.
AUDIBLE TELEPORTATION: The blinking sound that accompanies her teleportation of objects and people makes stealthy teleportation rather difficult. Due to the nature of the sound, it is impossible for Blink to move silently through her portals.
